        Senior Member, Tech (Strat tech)

        Front Office Tech
        Hyderabad, Bengaluru or Gurugram

We are looking for Software Developer to join our Strat Tech team based in the firm’s offices in Hyderabad/Bengaluru/Gurugram. Strat Tech operates at the intersection of quantitative research and software engineering, developing innovative technology solutions that power D. E. Shaw’s trading strategies. By partnering closely with researchers, traders, and technologists, the team transforms complex concepts into practical tools tailored to the firm’s business. Covering the entire trade lifecycle—from analytics and pre-trade decision support to high-performance execution systems and post-trade analysis—Strat Tech empowers our trading desks to achieve operational excellence and contribute to the firm’s success.

        What you’ll do day-to-day

As a member of the Strat Tech team, you will collaborate alongside colleagues from the trading desk, research, and technology groups to design and deliver systems that power D. E. Shaw’s investment strategies. Your responsibilities will include ideating, iterating, designing, and developing software to address key challenges across all stages of trading—from generating insights with analytics, to optimizing trade execution, to streamlining post-trade workflows. You will help architect and implement solutions using your programming expertise, with a focus on exceptional quality, scalability, and performance. By engaging directly with the trading ecosystem, you will gain a deep understanding of the lifecycle of specific strategies, refine features, and improve usability, while working cross-functionally to integrate new ideas and address evolving priorities. Your day-to-day work will combine technical problem-solving, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and proactive communication to meet the dynamic needs of our trading teams.
