        The D. E. Shaw group seeks a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join its growing middle office function in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, or Gurugram, India.

        What you’ll do day-to-day

        The Middle Office function within the Financial Operations group is an integral part of our global operations. The role provides vital operational support across multiple asset classes and complex products, serving as a central point of coordination for resolving post-trade or operational issues. It requires close collaboration with internal partners such as trading desks, technology, operations, and other business functions to enhance processes, strengthen controls, and contribute to strategic initiatives. The role encompasses the production, management, or improvement of reporting workflows and analytics, as well as active participation in process improvement and technology-driven projects.         Global Middle Office: Supports the lifecycle of the firm’s global trading strategies by coordinating trade operations and serving as a vital link between front office and operational teams. Partners with trading desks, technology, and operations to drive process improvements, strengthen controls, enhance data quality, and support technology projects. Responsible for developing tools and monitoring dashboards, while ensuring an efficient and collaborative environment. Potential for advancement into people management.

        Private Credit Operations and Reporting: Supports the firm’s private credit and distressed equity transactions by designing robust processes, reviewing, and reconciling trade bookings, and ensuring compliance with booking policies and accounting standards. Serves as the primary point of contact for trading desk inquiries and coordinates closely with Front Office, Asset Management, Operations, Finance, Risk, Investor Relations, and Technology teams, as well as external counterparties. Fulfills various roles including trade lifecycle management (from execution to settlement), resolving operational and reconciliation issues, overseeing reporting workstreams (such as track records and performance reporting), facilitating technology and data projects, managing the transition of key operational activities and process documentation. The team develops subject matter expertise in internal workflows, addresses trade discrepancies, and leads initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and stakeholder service—offering significant responsibility, cross-departmental exposure, and potential for advancement into people management.

        DESIM Operations and Client Services: Supports D. E. Shaw’s institutional asset management business by providing operational support and managing client services, including fund launches, investor transactions, mandate changes, and investor reporting, as well as driving key strategic projects and initiatives. Coordinates internal and external communications, manages investor reporting workflows, and leads initiatives to automate and streamline processes. Works with the COO, internal teams, and technology teams to enhance reporting tools and workflows, gaining broad exposure to the firm’s financial activities and structures.

        Who we’re looking for

        Basic qualifications:

        • A postgraduate degree and 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in financial operations or trade support (a CA or MBA is preferred)
        • Excellent understanding of trade lifecycle operations, including trade capture, P&L, security master, settlements, and reconciliation
        • Exceptional communication, project management, and organizational skills; attention to detail; and problem-solving abilities, with a keen desire to grow and take ownership in a dynamic setting
        • Experience managing front office inquiries and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve operational issues
        • The ability to design or contribute to dashboards and analytics for operational insights.
        • Familiarity with tools such as Bloomberg, IHS Markit, Capital IQ, Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization/reporting platforms
        • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
