        Senior Member, Python Infra (TechOps)

        Core Tech
        Hyderabad, Bengaluru or Gurugram

We are looking for a resourceful and experienced candidate to help lead technology operations for our Python Infrastructure team, based in the firm's offices in Hyderabad / Bengaluru / Gurugram. The Python Infrastructure team builds and maintains the Python foundation for the firm - infrastructure for analytic computations, data storage, and data services, high-performing data structures and data-analysis tools, parallel programming on the firm's grid, server infrastructure that other teams build on, and the firm's Python unit-testing and documentation infrastructure. These products underpin a large number of applications that are critical to the firm's day-to-day activities, which makes keeping them healthy, reliable, and fast a high-impact, senior operational responsibility. In this role, you will take broad ownership of the team's operational function, drive improvements that reduce manual toil, and mentor more junior members of the team — all within a high-quality environment with impeccable work standards.

        What you’ll do day-to-day

As a senior member of the team, you will handle operations for Python Infrastructure products while providing technical leadership for the operational function. Specifically, you will: Oversee CI pipelines and cron jobs — triaging build, test failures (including unit, speed, and memory tests) and import-performance regressions, driving fixes with the responsible developers, and ensuring these responsibilities are consistently covered. Spot repetitive manual work in the team's operations, such as triaging test failures, validating releases, and checking cron jobs, and automate it with reusable scripts and tools. Lead firmwide Python package upgrades — making our libraries compatible with each new version and planning the migration, with testing and fallback strategies to minimize disruption. Own release monitoring and release management for the team's repositories, including installing and validating cron jobs, releasing changes, and following up on post-release issues. Maintain an operational presence during the resolution of production issues, lead incident response, and escalate critical problems to minimize impact to users and the business.

        • Good proficiency in Python, with the ability to build and maintain operational tooling and to debug issues across unfamiliar libraries and components
        • Hands-on experience operating in Linux/Unix environments and comfort with shell commands for monitoring and troubleshooting
        • A good understanding of core computer science concepts, including operating systems and networking
        • Good problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills, with a detail-oriented mindset and the ability to scrutinize fine detail
        • Good communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a global and diverse team
