        The D. E. Shaw group seeks an application developer to join our Corporate Services Engineering team. The team is gearing up to build our entire infrastructure and applications to cater to the growing needs related to process effectiveness and efficiency, as well as data analytics to help the business groups make strategic decisions. The projects will have ample scope to work with the latest technologies while also providing design opportunities. The infrastructure will expose team members to many non-functional areas such data security, scalability, and high availability.         What you’ll do day-to-day

        You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining high-quality web applications and supporting infrastructure. This will involve close collaboration with business and product managers globally to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies and actively participate in code reviews to ensure the quality of the applications. Additionally, you will troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues to maintain stability and performance. Opportunities to stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential for implementation in ongoing projects.

        Who we’re looking for

        • One to three years of relevant experience in maintaining and engineering enterprise-level applications, along with an Engineering degree in computer science or another related technical discipline.
        • Experience and interest in modern web frameworks like ReactJS, responsive web design, and trends in modern web development along with advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
        • Experience in developing web applications using Node.js, Java, or Python is a plus.
        • The ideal candidate should possess excellent problem solving and analytical skills, as well as a demonstrated passion for technology with an eye for quality and attention to detail.
        • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are critical.
