        Lead, Tech (Trading Systems)

        Core Tech
        Hyderabad, Bengaluru or Gurugram

We are looking for an experienced engineer to join our Trading Systems team at our firm's offices in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, or Gurugram. The team builds and maintains critical infrastructure supporting the firm's trading applications, including an in-house messaging middleware platform that delivers latency in the tens of microseconds while processing hundreds of thousands of messages per second, and a firmwide monitoring and alerting framework for front-office technology applications and systems. In this senior individual contributor role, you will serve as the technical authority for both platforms, driving architectural direction, developing performance-critical code, and ensuring their reliability and scalability across trading teams.

        What you’ll do day-to-day

In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize high-performance systems using Java, with Python and C++ for client libraries and tooling. You will drive architectural decisions involving scalability, sharding, fault tolerance, durability, failover, and real-time data streaming while diagnosing complex production issues related to memory leaks, network connections, message delivery, latency, and alerting. You will also lead critical production changes, releases, disaster recovery exercises, and operational readiness initiatives while minimizing trading impact. Additionally, you will collaborate with trading, feeds, and infrastructure teams to understand requirements, support platform adoption, and resolve technical escalations. You will contribute to engineering excellence through code and design reviews, improved test coverage, mentoring engineers, and developing tools to enhance observability and production diagnostics.

        Who we’re looking for

        The ideal candidate should hold-

        Basic qualifications:

        • 3.5 – 6.5 years of hands-on software engineering experience, with demonstrated ownership of production systems
        • Excellent computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, operating systems, networking, concurrency, and memory management, with the ability to reason about system performance
        • Expertise in at least one programming language, preferably Java, with an exceptional understanding of JVM internals, garbage collection, and multithreading
        • Experience designing distributed, fault-tolerant, low-latency, or high-throughput systems, with excellent high-level and low-level design skills
        • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience diagnosing complex production issues and driving them to resolution
        • Sound technical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to balance system performance, reliability, and operational risk
        • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence technical decisions

        Preferred qualifications:

        • Experience with distributed messaging middleware or event-streaming systems
        • Familiarity with monitoring and observability frameworks, including metrics, tracing, dashboards, and alerting
        • Programming experience in Python or C++
        • Experience developing LLM-based or agentic tools and automation frameworks
