Associate Director/Director - GenAI Business Strategy & Transformation

        Project Management Office
        Hyderabad, Bengaluru or Gurugram

We are looking for a GenAI Business Strategy & Transformation Lead to anchor the DESIS GenAI-for-Business ("GAIBiz") effort. Depending on the candidate’s location preference, the position is open for either of our Hyderabad, Bengaluru, or Gurugram offices in India. This person will be responsible for translating the firm's GenAI strategy into tangible adoption and measurable outcomes across the DESIS environment, working in close partnership with the strategy and transformation core based in the firm's global offices. This is a role largely built around execution and adoption. The strategy setting and transformation agenda is driven centrally; the mandate here is to land that agenda well within DESIS, shaping it for the local context, driving uptake, and delivering results on the ground. There will be real opportunities to influence direction and expand scope over time, but a candidate who thrives will be one who is energized by making things happen, not solely by setting up the agenda. This role will offer a good mix of strategy formulation and hands on delivery experience, tilting more towards later.

        What you’ll do day-to-day

In this role, you will drive GenAI adoption across DESIS by moving initiatives from pilot to production use; conceptualizing and executing novel ways to increase adoption; and owning the associated logistics and change-management scaffolding (enablement, incentives, communications, feedback loops) needed to turn well-designed programs into genuine, sustained uptake. You will partner with the global strategy and transformation core, acting as the DESIS anchor for firmwide GenAI strategy, ensuring initiatives are contextualized, sequenced, and executed effectively in and for the DESIS environment. You will engage credibly with technical teams, working shoulder to shoulder with engineering and data teams, understanding architecture, model capabilities, and tradeoffs well enough to challenge, prioritize, and unblock. You will embed risk, compliance, and data governance, ensuring GenAI initiatives meet the firm's standards for data protection, model risk, regulatory expectations, and responsible-AI practice from the outset, not as an afterthought. Finally, you will measure and communicate impact by defining the metrics that matter, tracking adoption and value realization, and reporting progress clearly to senior stakeholders across DESIS and the global firm.

        Who we’re looking for

        The ideal candidate should hold-

        Basic qualifications:

        • 15 or more years of experience in leading GenAI and tech transformation
        • Sound instincts on when to buy, when to build, and when a middle path serves best, with the commercial sense to weigh cost, speed, and control (Strategic and commercial judgment)
        • A demonstrated track record of driving uptake, not just designing programs. Evidence of moving organizations from intent to embedded behavior (Change management and adoption)
        • Deep enough understanding of GenAI and modern data/ML systems to engage engineers credibly and make informed trade-offs. You need not be a builder, but you must be conversant (Technical literacy)
        • Experience in or adjacent to market finance, hedge funds, or investment management, with enough fluency to earn the trust of demanding stakeholders (Domain credibility)
        • Practical familiarity with the risk, regulatory, and data-governance considerations that shape how AI can responsibly be deployed in a financial-services setting (Risk, compliance and data governance)
        • Pragmatic and outcome-obsessed approach, with a high tolerance for ambiguity and rapid change. Ability to influence without authority across a distributed, matrixed organization, and comfort in operating primarily in a delivery-focused capacity within a globally driven agenda (Temperament and influencing skills)

Candidates with relevant experience looking to restart their careers after a break are encouraged to apply for this position.
