        We are looking for a bright and exceptional Technical Writer with strong communication skills and a flair for writing to join our Information Development (InfoDev) team based in the firm's offices in Hyderabad/Gurugram/Bengaluru. The team operates in an agile environment and provides an opportunity to learn the business domain and understand new technologies, processes, software, and tools.

        What you’ll do day-to-day

        As part of the Information Development (InfoDev) team you will be responsible for developing high-quality, user-centered content for internal users to help them succeed. In this role, you will work closely with development teams, technical operations team, project and product managers in an agile setup to design and author: API reference documentation, developer guides, release notes, concept docs, design documents, and how-to guides. The targeted audience of the documentation includes developers, tech stakeholders, and business unit heads. The technical writers at D. E. Shaw play an important role in bridging the information gap between engineers, developers, and end users. You will develop technical curriculum for engineering teams, develop and document processes, internal tools, and solutions that are part of the current and upcoming systems. You will also design and manage complex documentation sets for new and existing products and be accountable for the quality of your documentation. Additionally, you will edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by others, and coach non – writers on ways to improve their writing skills.

        Who we’re looking for

        • Candidate should possess excellent skills in writing about complex technical and business subjects with good verbal communication skills
        • The ideal candidate should have minimum 2 years of experience working with developers/engineers to prepare/maintain API reference documentation, developer documentation, end-user guides and design documentation
        • The candidate should have command of US English with excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
        • Candidate should have precise and clear communication skills and prior experience with Wiki, HTML, and MS Word
        • The ideal candidate should have the ability to interact with different business groups and scope documentation assignments
        • The candidate should have basic understanding of programming languages, preferably Python
        • Candidates having prior experience with video – based content and editing skills will have an added advantage
