        We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to join the Systems team at D. E. Shaw India, based in Hyderabad. This role will lead the Network Operations Center (NOC), Data Center (DC), AudioVisual (AV), Unified Communications (UC), and IT Finance functions, with a primary focus on implementing and optimizing operational processes across these areas. You will be responsible for developing and monitoring key performance metrics to maintain high service quality, managing effective incident response to ensure business continuity, and overseeing vendor relationships and external service providers to enhance service levels. The role involves close collaboration with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and AV teams in India and NYC to streamline global operations and manage engineering stakeholders effectively. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, project management, and systems expertise, along with proven people management skills, to drive operational excellence and foster collaboration across a global, cross functional technology environment.

        What you’ll do day-to-day

        In this role, you will oversee operational performance, ensuring that all parameters and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met across the NOC, Data Center, AV, UC, and IT Finance teams, while continuously evaluating and enhancing workflows and output. You will manage day to day data center operations, including STPI/SEZ compliance, inventory and budget control, vendor and contract management, link administration, and driving improvement initiatives. You will lead 24x7 NOC operations, manage METIS alert monitoring through rule assessment and refinement, oversee link management, and address operational incidents in line with best practices. You will partner with global AV and SysTech teams to deliver user friendly, cutting edge audiovisual solutions aligned with evolving business needs, and manage global UC operations, handling daily tasks and serving as the primary escalation point for issues. You will define, monitor, and report metrics across teams to drive performance improvements and maintain quality standards, while working closely with global engineering, project, and support teams to resolve operational bottlenecks and align infrastructure operations with business objectives. Additionally, you will identify process gaps, recommend, and implement improvements, establish documentation standards, and drive automation to optimize efficiency wherever possible.

        Who we’re looking for

        The ideal candidate should hold-

        Basic qualifications:

        • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
        • 12–15 years of relevant experience in IT operations, infrastructure management, or related roles—preferably within large, global organizations
        • Proven experience leading operations for core IT functions, such as NOC, data center, and AV
        • Expertise in project management, incident response, and IT service management
        • Exceptional people management, with a track record of building and developing high-performing, cross-functional teams
        • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with global teams, senior engineering stakeholders, and vendors
        • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, and a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence

         

        Preferred qualifications:

        • Industry certifications in ITIL, PMP, or related fields
