        D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments (“DESRI”) develops, acquires, builds, owns, and operates solar and wind renewable energy generation facilities in the U.S.A. DESRI currently owns, operates, or has an exclusivity agreement or signed purchase and sale agreement in place with respect to more than 8.7 GW of solar and wind assets in the U.S. across 80+ projects. DESRI is run by a dynamic team and is headquartered in New York, with offices located in Boston, Denver, and Hyderabad (India). The DESRI Legal Ops team, based in Hyderabad, India, undertakes multiple processes that facilitate the smooth functioning of the New York Legal team. We are looking for a resourceful candidate to join the DESRI team based at the firm’s office in Hyderabad, India. The candidate will be part of DESRI Legal Ops and will regularly interact with the U.S. and Hyderabad-based teams, as well as external parties.

        What you’ll do day-to-day

        In this position, you will be responsible for collating information, analyzing content, executing processes, managing databases and documents, interacting with counterparties, and summarizing information in the requested formats. You will work on processing all legal bills while following set protocols to obtain allocations and approvals (all while monitoring until bills are paid), which involve interacting with internal and external. You will act as a custodian of all entity-related information housed in the firm’s entity management database, updating and maintaining this database in real-time. You will also handle entity-related matters like formations, closures, and qualifications, including drafting and editing standard legal documents when requested. You will be responsible for tracking, preparing, and submitting all annual report filings within stipulated timelines across various jurisdictions in the United States and globally (including annual franchise tax filings). Additionally, you will create, update, and maintain the company’s entity structure organization charts and update the charts on an ongoing basis. You will also be expected to provide appropriate standard documentation and negotiate sensitive disclosures to satisfy the requests of counterparties for information as part of their due diligence on clients, handle confidential information on time-sensitive and mission-critical requests, and master a complex system of information about our ownership and control structures, signatory authorities, and documentation protocols. Furthermore, you will take up some process improvement-related initiatives, such as analyzing existing processes in billing, entity administration, and KYC to identify opportunities for enhancement and implementing changes to those processes. Finally, you will be expected to proactively identify areas that would benefit from new processes and work with our team and others to build these processes.

        • The candidate should have a degree in Business Administration/Management or any related field with 2-4 years of work experience
        • Candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills
        • The ideal candidate should have proficient organizational, editing, proofreading, and project management skills, possess an unwavering eye for detail combined with the ability to deliver consistently in a demanding work environment and also be self-motivated
        • Candidates with prior experience and/or interest in any legal related field will have an added advantage
